Living Lab for intelligent outdoor lighting
Scientists, city planners and lighting engineers are testing the latest developments for smart city applications in the “DOLL Living Lab”. Located in Albertslund, a suburb of Copenhagen, this combined test centre, exhibition space and innovation hub is Europe’s largest facility of its kind. Lighting technology provider Tridonic has initiated a three-year pilot project here to test new, intelligent solutions for sustainable outdoor lighting with the aim of enabling towns and cities to achieve significant cost savings and to offer new services for an intelligent lighting infrastructure that takes into account people and nature alike. more

Smart lighting from the cloud
The Spanish town of Pozuelo de Alarcón, located 15 kilometres west of Madrid, now benefits from a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient and centrally controllable lighting solution. Tridonic has equipped the municipality with 2,700 smart, dimmable LED drivers for the entire outdoor area. The town can thus save more than 50 percent in energy costs and take a crucial step closer to its ambitious climate targets. more

Modern lighting for a better quality of life

Dynamic facade lighting for Hotel Lima Marbella
The facade lighting for the four-star Hotel Lima Marbella in Spain needed to be upgraded as part of general renovation work. The project partners looked for a wireless light management system that would add dynamic control and RGBW colours to the existing outdoor lighting without major structural modifications. They found it at lighting control specialist Tridonic. Today, Bluetooth-based basicDIM Wireless control technology makes this traditional hotel a brilliant showcase in the centre of Marbella. more

Research project combines dynamic daylight and artificial light

Herend porcelain in the Tridonic spotlight
The finest porcelain in a refined setting – Herend, the Hungarian porcelain manufacturer, is famous for its traditional craftsmanship and exclusive collectibles. To showcase its unique handcrafted articles for maximum effect, Herend opted for a new lighting solution at its store in Budapest. Tridonic Introduces DC-String 48 V Track Lighting Technology
Dornbirn, Austria, April 24, 2018 ‒ Tridonic, a leading global provider of smart and efficient lighting solutions, today announced its new DC-String technology, the DC String is now commercially available with a new 100-watt AC/DC power supply designed for the U.S. market. The AC/DC driver and the DC/DC board are intentionally separated, the innovative 48 V DC-String lighting solution does away with bulky track boxes, leading to a slimmer design. The DC-String technology gives luminaire manufacturers a new freedom of design and provides simplicity, a lower cost to wire, and use of familiar lighting controls with a 0-10 V bridge, which allows for safe interchangeability for occupants in the space. more

Dornbirn, Austria, April 19, 2018 – Tridonic today announced the first LED driver compliant with the IoT-Ready™ standard and integrated 2 % energy metering accuracy compliant with the DesignLights Consortium® (DLC®) Guidelines. By collaborating with Enlighted, the leading provider of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for commercial buildings, the driver was created on draft specifications developed by the IoT-Ready Alliance™. The result is the first commercially-available IoT-Ready Profile 1 compliant driver. The planning office Bamberger has developed a new lighting solution for this grand setting. The lighting effect is outstandingly precise and effective.
