Tridonic delivers enhanced lighting for Baghdad Airport

Location: Baghdad/Iraq

Baghdad International Airport has used a bespoke Tridonic LED solution to greatly reduce its lighting energy consumption and maintenance costs.

The lighting upgrade was carried out in all three arrival and departure halls, replacing T12 fluorescent light sources driven by magnetic control gear. Specifiers Dulight and New City Light worked closely with Tridonic to design a tailored solution using the existing fittings. A mock-up was created so that the client could visualise the improvement in light quality and colour rendering.

This bespoke solution is based on Tridonic TALEXXchain Crystal LED light sources, installed within the existing luminaires and driven by TALEXXconverter LCU LED control gear. Energy savings are almost 80 % and the 80,000 hour life of the LEDs has greatly reduced maintenance costs.
